What Works For Me

The “Out” Box

Last week was a wild one! Hence my skipping of the WWFMW! Yikes! I’m working on making this a priority! Slowly! It was homecoming week! That means lots of festivities! Dress up week, parades, and Football! (One day was “Dress up as your hero day.” Austin dressed up as Cody. 🙂 Made my momma heart happy. 🙂

A good friend and fellow baseball mom, Amy, asked if I’d be interested in helping her with a float for the baseball team! I agreed and went to work! People in this community are so great. We sent a text out and there were several willing to do whatever we needed.

Rob Lindstrom donated a trailer to use, Lawn Buddies donated decorations, and Amy, Lyndi, Julie, and I went to work decorating! I got a hold of my Aunt Michelle about doing a balloon arch. She did one this summer for the 4th of July Float in Island Park, and it was awesome! She built some arches and said I could borrow them! It made the float super easy! The arches were just PVC and she made some stands that had a base to screw the PVC into. Then, all we needed to do was blow up balloons and attach them to the arch. See the video tutorial here.

Amy is a teacher at the local High School so she got us all set up as far as the paper work and then had the baseball team come and help her make the most adorable baseballs out of paper plates and tied them together for a skirt.

We were so worried about the weather! The forecast said rain all day Friday, and it POURED! But, the show must go on! And it did!! I went and got a truck from my dad at St. Anthony Motors and Jarred pulled the trailer while me, Amy, Lyndi, the little boys, and big boys, got SOAKED! But it was so fun! Such a great way to bring the team together.

My sister Emily said, “You two are a force to be re-conned with!” Ha Ha! Amen! Don’t mess with the Momma’s!

Anyway, so back to the WWFMW.

The “Out Box”

I use this when going though the pile of mail and papers. Like we have discussed here and here. If there is a document I need to drop off somewhere, mail that needs taken to the Post Office, or whatever it may be, if it is leaving my house it goes into this box. We get a lot of mail for our business sent to our home address. For years I would have one big pile that was such a pain to sort through! Now, when I get the mail, it goes straight to my “In Box” or “Out Box.”

The “Out Box”

These filing systems I have used have helped me stay on top of the clutter, prevented me from losing documents, and help me know where to look when I need an important document! It works well for me! Hopefully you can make it work for you!
